Description

Marakissa River Camp is located in the middle of a small forest on the winding Allahein River. In the forest there are huts and a restaurant and bowls with water are hung to attract birds so that they can be seen and photographed from very close by. In the river there are canoes with which you can paddle up the river. Many birds can be seen beautifully on and along the river. The first part of the banks are forested, after a kilometer the banks become more open.

Accès

Marakissa River Camp is accessible from the Brikama highway. When driving from Brikama to Senegal it is just before the Darsilami bridge on the right. Press P on the map for directions.

There is an observation hide in the forest (when I was there I didn't see anything there). Food and drinks are for sale in the restaurant. A short walk through the forest brings you to the canoes. With the canoes you can explore the river.

You can also stay overnight and book a room in a hut and have dinner in the restaurant. You can contact Marakissa River Camp using the following details: Phone: +220 9905852 / +220 7779487, email:info@marakissarivercamp.nl
