Petit Saut is an artificial lake created by man. Canoeing through the forest of dead trees in the middle of the lake allows you to observe a beautiful diversity of woodpeckers and other birds needing cavities to nest. The banks are surrounded by primary forest, allowing the observation of canopy species. To get to Petit Saut quickly, there is only one road: from the N1 between Sinnamary and Kourou take the crossroads which indicates the lake, continue the road to the end, where a boat launch is available, if you do not have a canoe you can rent on site from Oumar.
