Etang du Gallardon is a lake located between the river Seine and the town of Verneuil-sur-Seine. Among the more common birds, you will see manyBernache du Canada, Cygne tuberculé, Canard colvert, Gallinule poule-d'eau, Martin-pêcheur d'Europe and Bergeronnette des ruisseaux year-round.
During the spring, you will be welcomed with Sterne pierregarin, Hirondelle rustique, Hirondelle de fenêtre, Martinet noir and many other singers. During migrations, you will occasionally find shorebirds on the gravel edges of the lake. Most common will be Chevalier guignette, Chevalier culblanc and Vanneau huppé. But, if you are lucky, a Bécasseau variable or a Chevalier gambette will await you ! Winter is the most interesting season for the site, as many ducks and other laridae are coming there. Among the most common figure the Canard souchet, Canard chipeau, Sarcelle d'hiver, Fuligule milouin, Fuligule morillon, Goéland cendré and Grèbe castagneux. But, there are yearly reports of much rarer birds ! Grèbe esclavon, Harle huppé, loons, Garrot à oeil d'or have been seen a few times in the last decade.

Etang du Gallardon is located between the town of Verneuil-sur-Seine and the river Seine. From the A13, take the 8th exit and follow the "Verneuil-sur-Seine" signs. You can park in front of the lake, there is a public and free parking lot.
