Description
The Kuningatar peninsula has a variety of birds species from gulls, water fowl, warblers, waders and birds of prey. It's especially great spot to spend the early mornings of the migration season. The coastal meadow of the peninsula is a protected nature reserve and it's possible to spot birds like Phragmite des joncs , Bruant des roseaux , Chevalier sylvain , Chevalier aboyeur and some snipe species. Épervier d'Europe , Autour des palombes , Faucon crécerelle and Busard des roseaux also patrol the area in hopes of catching some smaller birds. Héron cendré is also often seen in the area.
Pic épeiche and Pic noir are common woodpeckers and some birders have also seen Pic à dos blanc in the forest. During spring and early summer the forest of Kuningatar is filled with bird songs. You can spot Pouillot fitis , Pouillot véloce , Pouillot siffleur , Pinson des arbres , Rougequeue à front blanc , Gobemouche noir , Grimpereau des bois , Hirondelle rustique , Traquet motteux , Tarier des prés , Bergeronnette grise and Rougegorge familier in the area.
The furthest point of Kuningatar, on top of the rocks is a good spot for bird watching with a telescope. Birders have seen a wide variety of birds especially during migration seasons. Among the most interesting birds spotted with a telescope are Guillemot à miroir. Birds like Eider à duvet , Harelde boréale , Harle bièvre , Harle huppé , Fuligule morillon , Garrot à oeil d'or , Bernache du Canada , Cygne tuberculé , Goéland marin and Sterne caspienne can be observed with and without binoculars too. Some lucky birders have spotted Martin-pêcheur d'Europe in the area too.
