Coastal area with grassland, salty marsh, scrub and wadden sea. Good for resting passerines and waterbirds.
As a point stretching into Ho Bugt, Nyeng is an area where there are either very few birds or many birds. In general, the area is quite large and most of the are can only be covered using a telescope. The grasslands are good for pipits, wagtails, larks, wheatears, chats etc. While the bushes are good for passerines in the migration seasons. During autumn migration, it is possible to see an absolutely stunning number of migrating thrushes and finches, along with great numbers of pipits and other day-migrating birds. The seaside is good for observing different species of water birds, especially in rising tides. The corner between Nyeng and Skallingen becomes the last place with bare, sandy and muddy banks, and in right conditions, a concentration of waders, ducks and gulls.
The area is best during autumn migration and also known for several rare vagrants such as Traquet isabelle, Pouillot à deux barres and Bruant rustique.
Access the area from the North, from the village of Ho or from the west by the road to the golf club and continue past the building to the N/S-bound gravel road.
