As a point stretching into Ho Bugt, Nyeng is an area where there are either very few birds or many birds. The seaside is good for observing different species of water birds, especially in rising tides. The corner between Nyeng and Skallingen becomes the last place with bare, sandy and muddy banks, and in right conditions, a concentration of waders, ducks and gulls.
The area is best during autumn migration and also known for several rare vagrants such as Traquet isabelle, Pouillot à deux barres and Bruant rustique.
