Description
Bognæs is a protected peninsula at the southern end of Roskilde Fjord, known for its salt marshes, reed marshes and forest areas. Bognæs is part of the Skjoldungernes Land National Park. Several birds breed in the area for example Grande Aigrette, Pigeon colombin and Pygargue à queue blanche.
In winter, a large number of ducks rest in Roskilde Fjord: Cygne tuberculé, Cygne chanteur, Harle bièvre, Garrot à oeil d'or, Fuligule morillon, etc. There is also the possibility of Pygargue à queue blanche and other birds of prey.

Bognæs is located about 10 km northwest of the town of Roskilde. Cars are not allowed. Car parking at the entrance to the peninsula. Press P on the map for directions to the car park. From the car park you can explore the area on foot or bring a bicycle. You can follow the marked route on the map. It is a long walk of 9-10 km, and requires good footwear.
