Description
Bastemose is a nutrient-rich bog with extensive stands of reeds. There are also more open water surfaces with dense stands of White Water Lily and Cancer Claw. In the middle of the marsh lies an island covered with dense willow scrub. A bird observation tower gives a great view of the bog and the birdlife. You can, among other birds, spot Grue cendrée, Butor étoilé, Gobemouche gris, Rousserolle effarvatte, Bruant des roseaux, Pie-grièche écorcheur, Busard des roseaux and Faucon hobereau. On good days, you can even experience groups of 5-10 falcons hunting above the bog. In addition, there are over 20 different species of dragonflies.

The bog is located in Almindingen just on the south side of the road between Rønne and Svaneke. There is a car park by the road. When you park your car in the parking lot at Segenvej, you have to walk about 100 meters on a flat gravel path before you reach the birdwatching tower. The birdwatching tower is equipped with a long oak ramp which makes it possible for wheelchair users to visit the lower deck of the bird tower.
There are several opportunities to explore the area along paths. 1000 m round around the northeasternmost part, and partly you can get around the entire bog, but here the path goes through rather wet sections at the south end and is therefore not always passable.
