Description

Kampa Park is located on the west bank of the Vltava River, not far from the island "Střelecký ostrov", near Petřín Park. In addition to the museum and gallery of the same name, it is a popular place for a picnic or an afternoon walk, so a higher number of visitors can be expected. The park consists mainly of taller trees and well-maintained asphalt paths. In addition to waterfowl such as Fuligule morillon, Foulque macroule, Canard chipeau, Gallinule poule-d'eau, Mouette rieuse, Héron cendré, Grand Cormoran, Canard colvert and a large number of swans, songbirds can also be observed in the park. Especially Mésange bleue and Merle noir can be found here almost all the time.

Occasionally, you can also catch a glimpse of Mésange charbonnière, Mésange à longue queue, Rougegorge familier, Troglodyte mignon, Sittelle torchepot, Pic vert, Pic épeiche, Grimpereau des bois, Pouillot fitis, Bergeronnette des ruisseaux, and many others. There are abundant species of corvids here such as Choucas des tours, Corbeau freux and Pie bavarde. With a little luck, you'll even see a Martin-pêcheur d'Europe fly by.

If you head to Petřín, where there is relatively more vegetation (bushes), you will also be able to observe species such as Fauvette babillarde, Mésange nonnette, Pouillot siffleur and after spring, abundant numbers of Chardonneret élégant. Quite common here among predators are Épervier d'Europe and Faucon crécerelle.

Accès

Parking is possible in the adjacent streets, and parking payments can be made via the "Moje Praha" application. Tram stops No. 9, 12, 15, 20 and 22 are also located in the vicinity of the park. Kampa and Petřín parks are best explored on foot or by using the paid bike rental service "Rekola" using a mobile application.

Waterfowl can also be observed from the adjacent Střelecký ostrov or by renting a boat. A walk in Kampa Park itself takes approximately 15-20 minutes, as it is smaller, so it is worth combining the activity with Střelecký ostrov or Petřín. Petřín is naturally uphill, so you have to be prepared to get a little warm and climb a few stairs. In addition, there are public toilets everywhere.
