There have been recorded more than 250 birds species. It is a nesting site of the in Silesia rare Panure à moustaches and there are nesting some other rare birds like Blongios nain , Gorgebleue à miroir and Roselin cramoisi. It is also a popular bird stop during migration time. In Spring you can see there for example Traquet motteux , Locustelle luscinioïde , Mouette mélanocéphale , Balbuzard pêcheur and sometimes even Phragmite aquatique and Lusciniole à moustaches.
During the Autumn migration you can see many species of waders like Bécasseau variable , Combattant varié , Bécasseau minute , Bécasseau cocorli , Chevalier arlequin , Chevalier sylvain and some other. Also you can observe Marouette ponctuée or Râle d'eau.
In Winter it is an ideal place for watching Panure à moustaches and if you are lucky you can see wintering Butor étoilé or Linotte à bec jaune .
Various bird rarities were also recorded here: Phalarope à bec étroit , Tournepierre à collier , Chevalier bargette , Barge à queue noire , Bécasseau maubèche , Goéland ichthyaète , Sterne caugek , Sterne arctique , Hirondelle rousseline , Busard pâle , Mouette de Sabine , Phragmite aquatique , Lusciniole à moustaches and many others.

The location is inaccessible by car, so it is best to park somewhere in Ostrava and walk to the location or go by bus. I recommend a walk along the western side of the pond. You can make a circle around, but if you want to see some reed birds, it is best to wait near the reeds or go on one of the fishing bridges (but be careful, it can be dangerous).
