Akrotiri marsh (also known as Fassouri marsh/reedbed) is a unique natural wetland in Cyprus covering an area of 150 hectares. It is part of the of the Akrotiri wetland complex, the largest natural wetland complex of the island. The Akrotiri peninsula has a variety of different habitats: a large salt lake, reedbeds, marshes, dry open areas with scattered trees and lots of cover for migrating birds. Important breeding birds at Akrotiri marsh are Fuligule nyroca, Vanneau éperonné, Échasse blanche, Francolin noir and probable Blongios nain. In the greater surrounding areas of Akrotiri wetland you can als see birds like Buse féroce, Chardonneret élégant, Busard des roseaux, Grue demoiselle, Bondrée apivore, Guêpier de Perse, Fauvette mélanocéphale, Héron garde-boeufs, Martin-pêcheur d'Europe and Bergeronnette citrine.

Akrotiri marsh is signposted. There is a tower hide at the start of the marsh and a second hide which you can see from the road as you drive along the edge of the marsh. Much of the marsh can be viewed from the road. The flooded meadow on the corner of the western edge of the marsh is a good place to stop and view.
