The Bay of Nin and Nin Lagoon, with its muddy and sandy shallow shores and wetland areas along Queen’s Beach attract many birds who use these habitats during the spring and autumn migrations. Almost 80 species of birds were recorded on Queen’s Beach. Don't come birding here in summer when the beach is packed with bathers. But outside the high season you can always find some nice or surprising birds here. Among the birds that are regularly observed are Gravelot à collier interrompu, Chevalier gambette, Courlis cendré, Aigrette garzette, Pluvier argenté, Bécasseau variable, Tadorne de Belon, Cormoran pygmée and Sterne caugek.

The Queen’s Beach is located directly northwest of the town of Nin. You can drive up al the way to the beach and park there. Click on the P in the map for directions to a parking spot. You can explore the area on foot by walking over the beach and some raised boardwalks. The shallow lagoon with mudflats on the western side is the most interesting part to scan for birds.
