The landscape around Ivaylovgrad Reservoir has a mosaic of habitats consisting of bushes, trees and grassy vegetation on the bank of this large fresh-water body with shallow water along the banks. An interesting combination of dry habitats and a wetland. In spring and summer the site can produce good views of Fauvette épervière and Fauvette orphéane. During the migration periods (March-May and July-October) Sarcelle d'été, Échasse blanche, Avocette élégante, Chevalier culblanc and other birds can be observed. In winter time Cygne tuberculé, Tadorne de Belon, Harle bièvre and other waterfowl is possible.
Other birds that can been observed include Crabier chevelu, Vautour fauve, Milan noir, Pygargue à queue blanche, Chevêche d'Athéna, Huppe fasciée, Guêpier d'Europe, Pic épeichette, Loriot d'Europe, Pie-grièche écorcheur, Pie-grièche à tête rousse, Alouette lulu, Hypolaïs des oliviers, Hirondelle rousseline, Rossignol philomèle, Black-headed wagtail, Bruant mélanocéphale and Bruant proyer.

Ivaylovgrad Reservoir is located near the village of Borislavtsi. The area is easy accessable, it is possible to stop near the road (road is far from busy), near a water spring. Press P on the map for directions. Very scarce public transport (once-twice a day). Easy to walk and explore quite a large area around. It is safe to leave the car near the road. In general you can see most of the birds in the area in one to one and a half hours.
