The reserve (called 'Baltata') is old natural forest next to Albena Resort and is good place to see Pic cendré, Pic vert, Pic épeiche, Pic mar, Pic épeichette and sometimes - Pic noir, and other forest birds from the asphalt paths of the resort. The terrace of the tallest building of the resort (Dobrudzha Hotel) is an excellent watch point to observe the flow of migrating Pélican blanc and almost all raptor species of Europe. Gobemouche nain, Rougequeue à front blanc and other passerine birds cross the area during migration as well.
