The Wolfsputten is an area with a hilly landscape, formed by old quarries and fed by calcareous springs. This combination results in exceptionally rich biodiversity. The area contains a mixture of forests, grasslands, scrubland, fields, and moist valley floors. The Wolfsputten are relatively quiet. You walk along boardwalks and through a mix of grasslands and woods. At the highest point on your path, you arrive at a viewing platform where you float four meters above the ground and see all that stunning nature from above. In spring, the valley is full of flowers. The diversity of habitats attracts many different bird species.

Nederlands: De Wolfsputten is een natuurparel van 90 hectare in de Groene Rand op een boogscheut van Brussel. Het is een heuvelachtig landschap gevoed door kalkrijke bronnen. Dit heerlijke natuurgebied was vroeger een zandsteengroeve. De kalk in de ondergrond trekt nu vooral slakken aan, liefst 37 soorten huisjesslakken wonen hier. En 260 soorten vlinders. In het voorjaar ligt de vallei vol bosanemonen en daslook. Het gebied bevat een uitzonderlijke mengeling van bossen, graslanden, ruigten, akkers en vochtige valleigronden. Die biotoopdiversiteit trekt heel wat verschillende vogelsoorten aan.
Neen, een wolf zal je hier niet spotten. De Wolfsputten zijn relatief stil en liggen in een diep ingesneden vallei. Je wandelt over vlonderpaden en door een mix van graslanden en bossen. Op het hoogste punt op je pad kom je aan een roestbruin uitkijkplatform waar je vier meter boven de vaste grond zweeft en al die topnatuur van bovenaf ziet.

Nature reserve De Wolfsputten is located north of the centre of Dilbeek, less than one kilometre from the Brussels Ring Road (R0) and between Ninoofsesteenweg to the south and the Brussels-Aalst railway line to the north. The starting point for a visit is the Westrand Cultural Centre on Kamerijklaan in Dilbeek. Press P on the map for directions to the car park. The circular walk shown on the map is approximately 4 km. Along the way, you will find benches, and a picnic area.

Nederlands: Natuurgebied De Wolfsputten ligt ten noorden van het centrum van Dilbeek, op minder dan een kilometer van de Brusselse ringweg (R0) en tussen de Ninoofsesteenweg in het zuiden en de spoorlijn Brussel-Aalst in het noorden. Startpunt voor een bezoek is Westrand Cultuurcentrum aan de Kamerijklaan in Dilbeek. Druk op P in de kaart voor een routebeschrijving naar de parkeerplaats.
