Description
Mesureput is an area that mainly consists of water with adjacent moist poplar forests. You can find species on the water such as Martin-pêcheur d'Europe, Foulque macroule, Fuligule morillon, Cygne tuberculé as regular species. The irregular species are among the herons with Bihoreau gris and Grande Aigrette resting on the overhanging branches and in the scrub. The adjacent poplars are good for Pic épeichette and the rare Loriot d'Europe nowadays.

Nederlands: Mesureput is een restant van een oude Schelde meander met hoofzakelijk eendachtigen en reigerachtigen. Het gebied bestaat dus hoofdzakelijk uit water met aangrenzende vochtige populierenbossen. Je kan op het water vogels aantreffen zoals Martin-pêcheur d'Europe, Foulque macroule, Fuligule morillon, Cygne tuberculé als regelmatige soorten. De ongerelmatige soorten bevinden zich onder de reigerachtigen met Bihoreau gris en Grande Aigrette rustend op de overhangende wilgen en in het struweel. De aangrenzende populieren zijn dan weer goed voor Pic épeichette en de tegenwoordig zeldzamere Loriot d'Europe.

Mesureput is located on the river Scheldt east of Zingem. Access to the area is via the towpath, vehicles are not allowed here. You can park your vehicle under the bridge on the Nederzwalmsesteenweg. Press P on the map for directions to the parking spot. From the parking spot there and back is a walk of approximately 2.5 km.

Nederlands: Mesureput ligt aan de Schelde ten oosten van Zingem. De toegang tot het gebied kan je nemen via het jaagpad, voertuigen zijn hier niet toegelaten. Je kan met het voertuig parkeren onder de brug aan de Nederzwalmsesteenweg. Druk op P in de kaart voor een routebeschrijving naar de parkeerplek. Vanaf de parkeerplaats heen en terug is een wandeling van zo'n 2,5 km.
