The cultural landscape around the castle attracts Fauvette grisette, Fauvette babillarde.

Kasteeldomein van Horst is located northeast of Leuven, near the village of Sint-Pieters-Rode. The place can be reached by the De Lijn bus from Leuven. There is a big parking lot in front of the castle. Press P on the map for directions to the parking lot. The circular route shown on the map is about 5 km.
