Description
Broek De Naeyer is a nature reserve of 66 ha surrounded by water. The river Rupel flows to the north and the old channel arm of the Antwerp-Brussels sea channel runs to the west. Many birds, such as Grand Cormoran, Héron cendré and Martin-pêcheur d'Europe find a breeding ground here or visit the area. You can admire them up close in two bird watching hides.

Nederlands: Broek De Naeyer is een natuurreservaat van 66 ha omgeven door water. Dit voormalig industriegebied groeide uit tot een waar paradijs voor watervogels. De rivier de Rupel stroomt naar het noorden en de oude kanaalarm van de zeegeul Antwerpen-Brussel loopt naar het westen. Veel vogels, zoals Grand Cormoran, Héron cendré en Martin-pêcheur d'Europe vinden hier een broedplaats of bezoeken het gebied. Je kunt ze van dichtbij bewonderen in twee vogelkijkhutten.

Broek De Nayer is situated on the river Rupel near the village of Klein Willebroek. The area is best explored on foot. Parking is available less than 1 km away. Press the P on the map for directions to the parking lot. The area is freely accessible every day from sunrise to sunset. You can make a circular walk of 4 km (shown on the map) that passes the two bird hides.

Nederlands: Broek De Nayer ligt aan de rivier de Rupel bij het dorp Klein Willebroek. Het gebied is het best te voet verkennen. Parkeren kan op minder dan 1 km afstand. Druk op de P in de kaart voor een routebeschrijving naar de parkeerplek. Het gebied is elke dag vrij toegankelijk van zonsopgang tot zonsondergang. Je kunt een rondwandeling maken van 4 km (weergegeven op de kaart) die langs de twee vogelhutten gaat.
