Description

With about 4 hectares of water and reed this area is the biggest water biotope in Bad Vöslau. Combined with the forest area and neighboured fields, several animal and plant species can be encountered here. By the western pond you can find Martin-pêcheur d'Europe (especially in winter!) and Bruant des roseaux. Usually Gallinule poule-d'eau rest near the water's edges or on the trail, although they are very shy. Râle d'eau has been spotted here as well. Take a look at the trees across the water because Héron cendré and Grande Aigrette like to rest there. In the eastern area you can find different species like Mésange à longue queue, Pic épeiche, Pic syriaque and so on. Benches to rest can be found around the ponds or by the fishing hut. Heading to the fields and vineyards in the north you are likely to see Épervier d'Europe, Buse variable, Faucon crécerelle, Faisan de Colchide deers and rabbits.
