Description
The Felder Meiningen NE is a good birding area, where it's possible to see a variety of birds. Especially for migratory birds, it's a great area because of its location north of the Alps. Through this it has a significant meaning as a resting area fore some species.
Over the years, there have been spotted a few interesting rarities like Bergeronnette de Yarrell, Cisticole des joncs or Bruant ortolan. But also local rarities like Râle des genêts, Pluvier doré, Huppe fasciée or Bruant proyer can be found here. Common birds in the area are Milan royal, Milan noir, Cigogne blanche, Pigeon colombin, Alouette des champs and Hirondelle rustique.

The villages of Meiningen and Rankweil are located 30 km south of the city of Bregenz and Lake Constance (Bodensee), and close to the Swiss border. Because of the difficult parking situation and some streets have no access for cars it is better to not go into the area with the car. It is recommended to explore the area with a bike or on foot. One of the nearest parking areas would be "Paspels-Seen Parkplatz". Press P on the map for directions to this parking. But because of its distance to the Felder Meiningen NE it is unfortunately still not the best solution.
Public transport: The nearest bus stops would be: 1. Rankweil L190/Betriebsgebiet Nord. 2. Rankweil L190/Frutzbrücke. 3. Meiningen (Vorarlberg) Stobernweg. 4. Meiningen (Vorarlberg) Bim Krüz.
