Description

The Celery Farm is a 107-acre freshwater wetland. The wetlands and deciduous woods provide habitat for many birds Over 248 species of birds have been recorded, and more than 50 are known to breed here. The Celery Farm has many trails through a reeded marsh and wooded areas. It is not very manicured, but not overgrown either. Common sights seen here include Wood Duck, Rusty Blackbird, Virginia Rail and Great Egret. This site can also have Eastern Screech-Owl and other rare birds.

Access

The Celery Farm is located in Allendale, New Jersey and is relatively close to the Allendale NJ Transit station. The Celery Farm has good parking near and in front of the reserve. Press P on the map for directions. An average visit will last 1-2 hours, and it is best to explore the area by foot. The circular walking route shown on the map is about 1.2 miles.
