Murphey Candler Park is a 135-acre multi-use park with tennis courts, a swimming pool, a playground, picnic areas, a lake, and trails. The lake and the park attract many birds. More than 180 species of birds have been recorded at Murphey Candler Park, ranging from common species, like Northern Cardinal and Carolina Wren, to waterfowl (especially in winter) and wading birds, like Northern Shoveler and Solitary Sandpiper. A 2 mile loop circles Murphey Candler Lake.
Murphey Candler Park is located at 1551 West Nancy Creek Drive in northern DeKalb County, and is the largest park in the city of Brookhaven. Press P in the map for directions to the parking lot.
