Description

The Upper Stour Valley is an area of lush wildflower meadows grazed by cattle, reedbeds, small lakes, river and woodland. Dragonflies are hunted by nuolihaukka. Occasional otter seen. The reserves have birdboxes, feeders and cafes. Look for lehmähaikara, silkkihaikara, rytikerttunen, ruokokerttunen, pajusirkku, kuningaskalastaja, pensaskerttu, hernekerttu, taivaanvuohi, harmaasorsa, virtavästäräkki and tiltaltti.

Access

Sudbury and Long Melford are on the A134 Colchester to Bury road. For the Glemsford reserve take Cavendish road from Melford. Click on a P in the map to get directions.
