Spectacular scenery, migrants and seabirds.
The headland and peninsula of St David's Head attract early and late migrants, lost and wayward birds. Southerly winds during early spring, deliver the first kivitasku and törmäpääsky, and riuttatiira stop briefly to feed in nearby Whitesands Bay. Later, when migration is fully underway, vast numbers of hirundines journey past on their northerly course.
The car park (SM733272) at nearby Whitesands Beach, has a toilet and a café/shop. See map. The entire peninsula is criss-crossed with a network of footpaths, some steep in places. The circular route shown on the map is about 6,5 km long.
