Ruddon's Point is said to be the best place in Britain to view overwintering mustalintu, pilkkasiipi and the rare pilkkaniska together. Also wintering here may be haahka, telkkä, isokoskelo, härkälintu, mustakurkku-uikku, all 3 diver species, merisirri and tukkakoskelo.
kiuru, luotokirvinen, meriharakka, punajalkaviklo, tylli and hemppo breed here, plus pikkukäpylintu, vihervarpunen and hippiäinen in the pines.
As with many east coast sites, rare migrants such as kirjokerttu, taigauunilintu and pikkusieppo may turn up in September.
