Description

Nunhead Cemetery has the largest woodland area near the centre of London. A Victorian burial ground since 1840 is now a nature reserve. The area has many mature trees, some open areas and many overgrown scrubland sections. There is a seasonal spring fed pond (press STAR on map) in Autumn/Winter/Spring where sinisorsa, merimetso, harmaalokki, selkälokki and harmaahaikara are usual. varpushaukka and lehtopöllö are regularly seen as well as commoner Passerines. PLEASE KEEP TO ALL PATHS ONSITE.

Access

Parking on street only on surrounding roads. Press P's on map for directions. The nearest station to Nunhead Cemetery is Nunhead Railway Station, which is served by Southeastern trains. It’s just a short walk from the cemetery. The nearest tube station is Brockley. By bus: lines 177, 343, 36, 78, P12 stop close to Nunhead Cemetery.
