Description

A trail through undulating hillside, farmland and fields. Up and down the open hills where you can enjoy great views on a clear day. muuttohaukka, hiirihaukka and tuulihaukka are frequent. käki target the niittykirvinen nests. Access

To access car park at Forest Coal Pit take minor road north from Abergavenny and fork left after pub at Pantygelli. North end of car park is a gate leading to the ridge.

Parc Lodge car park gives easy access to both Rholben and Deri Ridge. From Abergavenny A40 take Chapel Road NP7 7BD then Pentre Road, going uphill towards steep and narrow access lane.

Good panoramic views of Brecon Beacons,, Malvern Hills and Bristol Channel. Strenuous circular 7 mile route south to Triley Court and return along Bryn Arw but beware slippery section at Cwm Brynnal. Take care on the rougher sections of this trail, especially in wetter conditions. Appropriate footwear is advised.
