Wetland where more than 150 valkopääsorsa can be observed in spring.
Edremit Marshes is a bird paradise with high amount of valkopääsorsa (more than 150 individuals in spring). This endangered species is easy to see here especially in spring. Also, other waterfowls such as punasotka are close to shore in this small wetland. Among the other birds you can spot in the area are nokikana, sinisorsa, punapäänarsku, pitkäjalka, avosetti, lapasotka and harmaasorsa.
Edremit Marshes are easy to reach by car, public transport etc. It is close to Van city, just south of the airport. Walking is the easy way to explore the area. There are also several parking areas. Click on a P in the map to get directions or coordinates.
