Description
The Lillfjärden lake is primarily known for its geese. valkoposkihanhi, merihanhi, and kanadanhanhi all breed. The lake also holds the entire swedish non-breeding population of kiljuhanhi. Other geese like tundrahanhi, metsähanhi, lyhytnokkahanhi can often be found. Some years tundrametsähanhi and sepelhanhi are also found during migration periods.
The lakes rocky coast is also often home to waders like mustaviklo, punajalkaviklo, pikkutylli (breeds), meriharakka (breeds), and suokukko. The lake holds large amounts of sinisorsa and smaller amounts of other dabbling ducks. Even species which are rare in northern areas like harmaasorsa, Lapasorsa and heinätavi. Smaller amounts of diving ducks can often be found. Wintering tilhi and taviokuurna are often found. Although the numbers vary widely.

Access
The lake lies directly north to the center of Hudiksvall. There are many places to park the car. Click on the P in the map to get directions. You can make a circular walk around the lake (2,5 km).
