Description
Isternäset is the NW corner of the widespread Vattenriket, a big area south of Kristianstad containing shallow lakes, marshes and wetlands. The site is an open area with some water (though it often dries out in the summer) which attracts a variety of migrating shorebirds and ducks but also hosts some interesting breeders such as mustapyrstökuiri and heinätavi. From the platform there is a decent view, but considering the restrictions it's as good as it gets in the spring.
A walk in May from Isternäset south towards the visitors center might be rewarding as the area attracts species as viitasirkkalintu , pensassirkkalintu and kuningaskalastaja.
