Wetland with two bird observation towers. The land is grazed by cattle.
Brosjön is a wetland area that attracts many bird species in the flooded area in spring. Good place for waterfowl in open water areas. Several different species of birds of prey nest in the immediate vicinity and forage in Brosjön. From some of the bird observation towers it is quite a long distance, so a spotting scope can be useful. Among the birds you can observe are Lapasorsa, taivaanvuohi, rantasipi, Kurki, merikotka, sääksi (kalasääski), ruskosuohaukka, sinisuohaukka and laulujoutsen.
Brosjön is clearly visible from the railway tracks and the E45 at Värmlandsbro, 7 km northeast of Säffle. The parking lot is located at the entrance to a industrial area in the northern part of Värmlandsbro. Click on the P in the map for directions. From the parking a trail starts to two observation towers on the south and east sides of Brosjön. The nearest tower is approx. 150 m away from the parking. Handicap adapted. Public transport stops near the entrance to the area. To get to the bird observation towers, you walk on gravel paths in areas where cattle grazes.
