Tejina ponds consist of a total of six freshwater reservoirs in the north of Tenerife. The ponds represent an important source of freshwater on the island.
At Tejina ponds birds can be seen here that are otherwise hard to find on the islands. It is the most important breeding location for several species e.g. yöhaikara, pikkuhaikara and it is a regular site for vagrants.
Access is best by walking around and between the reservoirs. Two are most easily accessible but visitors may need to walk along the road at times. Click on a P in the map to get directions.
