Description
The Roque de Garachico is home to birds such as tyrskyliitäjä, Madeirankeiju, kanariankääpiöliitäjä and keltanokkaliitäjä. Although the birds breed on the rock they are hard to observe, as they are mostly getting to and from there nests at night. The rock formation also provides a roost site for wintering herons as well as a resting place for birds that stop here on their long migratory paths. Because the rock is 300 meters from the coast, you need a telescope here to be able to watch birds properly.
