Description
Parque Forestal Valdebebas - Felipe IV consists of a young forest of native vegetation, though an area to the south does have older trees. Most of the area is dominated by stone pines, which hold all of the common birds of the area. The park has several streams and and two small lakes. These attract birds such as virtavästäräkki, pussitiainen, Luhtakana (uncommon), kuningaskalastaja and sometimes ruostesorsa. Some other ducks, like harmaasorsa, might occasionally show up. Waders, such as metsäviklo can also appear. There have been records of Paksujalka. During winter, the top part of the park is very good for punakylkirastas, with räkättirastas also being present. Some raptors like munkkikorppikotka might fly over, but this isn't a good spot for them. minervanpöllö is present, however, the park is closed at night, making other owl species sightings scarce. Kurki might ocassionally fly over during winter.
