Description
This natural area covers the mouth of the Guadiaro river, the wetland (that is an old island) and the beach. Despite its small size, its characteristics, closer to the Mediterranean Sea than to the Atlantic Ocean, make it an area of high bird's richness, with almost 230 species recorded. The bird species are typical of places of brackish water with little influence of tide and reedbeds: ducks, herons, rails and crakes, waders, seabirds, gulls, terns and waterbird passerines.

Access
This area is located between Sotogrande and the harbour of Sotogrande. You can take exit 130 of the A-7 motorway towards Paniagua avenue, first, and Paseo del Parque street, later.
You can also take exit 133 of the same highway towards the harbour of Sotogrande, first, take Puerto Sotogrande street and then Jaime el Conquistador street, after crossing the bridge, where you can have a look, turn left. to the entry. The entrance is about 500 meters.
You can park next to the entrance from where you have to go on foot.
