Description

Marismas del Odiel is one of the key sites to see water birds in Huelva. Many wintering and migrating birds are seen here. Large numbers of observable birds in one day. Located in the south of the province of Huelva, at the confluence of the mouths of the Tinto and Odiel rivers, the encounter between the sweet and salty waters has given rise to a complex of marshes influenced by the tides. The system functions as an estuary where the channels of both rivers deposit a large amount of nutrient-laden sediments at the mouth. These are the main food base of the thousands of birds that populate this bird paradise.
