Estany d’Ivars i Vila-sana is the largest lake in the Catalan inland. In 2005, the lake was restored to its former glory, after it had previously fallen victim to extreme drought. More than 220 different bird species have been spotted in the area. The lake has a circular path of 6 km. There are two parking areas and several bird hides open to the public. Among the birds you can see are suosirri, taivaanvuohi, punajalkaviklo, kattohaikara, ruskohaikara, silkkihaikara, lehmähaikara, yöhaikara, pikkukotka, ruskosuohaukka, isohaarahaukka, haarahaukka, kuningaskalastaja, mehiläissyöjä, silkkikerttunen, sinirinta, etelänsatakieli, kirjosieppo, mustaleppälintu and mustapäätasku.
