Description
Charca de Rinlo originated as a result of a failed business project. It is an artificial pond that formed in Rinlo on the site of a controversial fish farm. Only the excavation and the first earthworks where the facilities were to be located were carried out. The accumulation of rainwater has led to the birth of a new and small wetland that is used by birds as a stopping place in their migrations. Birdwatchers have discovered that this very small place sometimes attracts rare birds during migration. Among the more regular birds you can spot during migration are pronssi-iibis, kapustahaikara, suosirri, suokukko, pikkukuovi, punajalkaviklo, liro, taivaanvuohi and tylli. The nearby rocky coastline is of course also good for many seabirds passing by. Groups of karimetso and meriharakka from the regional populations, usually rest on the small islet called “A Corveira”.

Los observadores de aves ya conocen el lugar como A Charca de Rinlo y van llegando desde lugares cada vez más lejanos atraídos por la posibilidad de ver aves extrañas en un espacio muy reducido, ya que en realidad se trata de un lugar muy pequeño en comparación con lo que puede ser la Ría de Ribadeo al completo, a donde también van numerosas especies.
