Due to the presence of shallow pools, the Vadu area is popular with waders such as jänkäsirriäinen, pitkäjalka, lapinsirri, pikkusirri, mustajalkatylli and vesipääsky. In spring and autumn it is a good place for migratory birds. But also in summer many marsh birds such as ruskohaikara, pronssi-iibis, valkoposkitiira, yöhaikara, ruskosuohaukka, pikkuhuitti and kenttäkerttunen are breeding in this area.
