Description

Zajki Meadows is a very good spot for observing marsh species. All 3 marsh tern species ( mustatiira, valkosiipitiira and valkoposkitiira) are present. Some warblers in nearby bushes. There is also a couple of pairs of mustapyrstökuiri around as well as plenty of suokukko and liro on the meadows in the spring. Various trushes and nightingales can be heard later in the day.

Access

Access is restricted to the road. The meadows are in the National Park, further down there is also a trail you can take and possibly even hear some heinäkurppa.

Note that in dry periods the meadows can be completely dry and then there are far fewer birds to be seen and no terns.
