Description

Polder Satopy Samulewo is a nature reserve covers an area of 333 hectares with a buffer zone of 793 hectares. The aim is to preserve the backwater in the forks of the Sajna and Rynu rivers, which is a breeding ground for numerous species of waterfowl and a place of concentration of birds during autumn and spring migrations. The polder is very interesting for birding during bird migration. Thousands of migratory geese can be seen. Among the bird species you can observe are tundrametsähanhi, tundrahanhi, valkoposkihanhi, laulujoutsen, merikotka, kyhmyjoutsen, Lapasorsa, haapana, jouhisorsa, tavi, punasotka and silkkiuikku.

It is best to leave the car in the village of Satopy. Access to the reserve on the road paved with concrete slabs.
