Description
Lake Kierskie is especially interesting in the autumn and winter. Ducks, geese, grebes and loons etc. stop here regularly in pretty good amount. In winter, up to 3,000 gulls spend the night here - mainly: naurulokki, harmaalokki, aroharmaalokki, kalalokki and also a single: mustanmerenlokki, merilokki, selkälokki. Quite rare waterfowl for inland are regularly observed, such as: lapasotka, pilkkasiipi, mustalintu, mustakurkku-uikku, kaakkuri and kuikka. The lake is a feeding ground for merikotka. Geese spend the night on the reservoir, mainly: merihanhi but also northern geese.
