Bugaj Reservoir is a great place during spring and summer time. There is a breeding colony of kalatiira, mustatiira and naurulokki. Two or three pairs of ruskosuohaukka also breed there. It is also a breeding place for kyhmyjoutsen, pikku-uikku, kaulushaikara, viiksitimali, Liejukana and silkkiuikku.
