Description
In summer, Frognerparken is a good spot for the resident, urban species, like västäräkki , peippo , tikli and mustarastas. In addition, the ponds will hold various ducks and maybe also Liejukana, rantasipi and virtavästäräkki. kyhmyjoutsen breeds here.
In winter, the ponds usually have open water, which is good for wintering ducks. sinisorsa are of course abundant, while telkkä and tukkasotka are usual guests. tavi and haapana also regularly winter here. Always check for rarer species, especially in late fall and early spring. harmaahaikara is also a common sight. Gulls also frequent the park during the winter months, due to people feeding the ducks. Wintering naurulokki and kalalokki can be found, as well as rarer species. Both isolokki and grönlanninlokki have been reported from the park, and one rengasnokkalokki was found here in the spring of 2001.
Follow Frognerelva south west to Skøyen and look for koskikara during winter.

Access
Frognerparken is easily accessible by bus, tram and subway. Majorstuen is the closest hub, a mere five minute walk away. If you exit to the south west towards Skøyen, you will find both train, tram and bus to take you back to Oslo. Driving is not recommended, as parking may be difficult and expensive.
