Vast low moor area with peat holes, reed beds, scrape land, marsh forest and open water.
The Rottige Meente is a large reed marsh with peat holes, with the a hide in the middle. You can se kapustahaikara, kattohaikara and to a lesser extent kaulushaikara. ruskohaikara is also possible. Of the many common waders, we mention suokukko, liro, pitkäjalka, rantasipi and mustapyrstökuiri. Birds of prey such as nuolihaukka and ruskosuohaukka are regularly seen. Many species of ducks can be seen on the water, including many harmaasorsa, Lapasorsa, sometimes isokoskelo, pikku-uikku and telkkä. Songbirds like sinirinta, rytikerttunen and many ruokokerttunen.

Nederlands: De Rottige Meente is een groot riet/moeras met petgaten.De kijkhut staat er midden in. O.a. kapustahaikara kattohaikara, kanadanhanhi en in mindere mate kaulushaikara en ruskohaikara hebben er heel wat stappen neergezet. Van de talrijk voorkomende steltlopers noemen we kemphaan, bosruiter, steltkluut, oeverloper, (IJslandse) grutto. Roofvogels als boomvalk en bruine kiekendief laten zich regelmatig zien. Op het water zijn veel soorten eenden te zien, waaronder veel krakeend, slobeend, soms grote zaagbek, dodaars en brilduiker. Zangvogels als sinirinta, rytikerttunen en veel ruokokerttunen.
