Along the Brekkenpaad you can hear thousands of haapana whistling on the lake in the winter months. On the north side of the area the are wet meadows that are rich in nutrients and attract many birds. The entire path is very rich in birds in every season, highly recommended! Among the birds you can see along the way are tundrahanhi, lyhytnokkahanhi, valkoposkihanhi, ristisorsa, Lapasorsa, tavi, uivelo, meriharakka, töyhtöhyyppä, punakuiri, mustapyrstökuiri, suokukko, taivaanvuohi, kaulushaikara, kapustahaikara, ruokokerttunen,keltavästäräkki, niittykirvinen, tikli and pajusirkku.
