Description
Kattenleger is an area where interesting birds are regularly observed. Despite the close proximity of the A15 motorway and the Betuwe railway line, the reed areas in particular offer a chance for nice species such as kaulushaikara and viiksitimali. You will almost certainly encounter pajusirkku, tikli, rytikerttunen and Liejukana but also a chance of Luhtakana, ruskosuohaukka and pikku-uikku.

Nederlands: Kattenleger is een gebied met rietvelden, weiland en een boomsingel langs Betuwe-spoorlijn waar regelmatig interessante vogelsoorten worden waargenomen. Ondanks nabije aanwezigheid van snelweg A15 en de Betuwe-spoorlijn bieden met name de rietgebieden kans op leuke soorten als kaulushaikara en viiksitimali. Vrijwel zeker kom je pajusirkku, tikli, rytikerttunen en Liejukana tegen, maar ook kans op Luhtakana, ruskosuohaukka en pikku-uikku.

The area is only accessible by bicycle or on foot. You can park on the edge: from Bemmel, drive into the Plakse Uitweg (dead end) and park at the end. Click on the P in the map for directions.
