The dam in front of the Stellendam Buitenhaven protrudes far into the sea and therefore offers an excellent view of countless foraging waders, terns and sandpipers. Birds you can see in this place are räyskä, riuttatiira, pikkutiira, kalatiira, sääksi (kalasääski), merikotka, muuttohaukka, meriharakka, kuovi, karikukko, telkkä, isokoskelo and tukkakoskelo.

De dam die voor de Buitenhaven Stellendam ligt, steekt ver de zee in en biedt daardoor een uitstekend uitzicht op talloze fouragerende waadvogels, sterns en strandlopers. Easily accessible by bicycle and car. You can park in the large parking lot at the harbour. Click on the P in the map for directions to the parking lot. Birding is best at low tide, see the link to the tides table below.
