Description
The Autrichepolder is a recently constructed water and marshland. From the canal dike you have a beautiful view over the area. It can be very rich in birds with large numbers of ducks and geese: sinisorsa, ristisorsa, Lapasorsa, harmaasorsa, tavi, tukkasotka, merihanhi, kanadanhanhi and in winter tundrahanhi and tundrametsähanhi. Waders and meadow birds also know how to find the area, such as taivaanvuohi, töyhtöhyyppä, meriharakka, avosetti, punajalkaviklo and occasionally pikkutylli. In the summer you have a chance to see mustakaulauikku.

Nederlands: De Autrichepolder is een recent aangelegde water- en moeraspartij. In 2002 is het natuurgebied aangelegd. Het gebied staat onder sterke invloed van kwel uit het kanaal van Gent naar Terneuzen. Vanaf de kanaaldijk heb je een prachtig zicht over het gebied. Het kan er zéér vogelrijk zijn met grote aantallen eenden en ganzen: sinisorsa, ristisorsa, Lapasorsa, harmaasorsa, tavi, tukkasotka, merihanhi, kanadanhanhi en in de winter tundrahanhi en tundrametsähanhi. Ook steltklopers en weidevogels weten het gebied te vinden zoals taivaanvuohi, töyhtöhyyppä, meriharakka, avosetti, punajalkaviklo en een enkele keer pikkutylli. In de zomer heb je kans om mustakaulauikku te zien.
