Alde Feanen - Wikelslân en de Bolderen is a nice area for birdwatching. Along the walking routes you find a very varied landscape with forest, reedbeds, marshes and open water. In the spring there is a chance of kaulushaikara, sinirinta, rytikerttunen, ruskosuohaukka. kattohaikara breeds with several pairs at the parking lot. In autumn and winter many migrating species of geese and birds of prey like ampuhaukka and sinisuohaukka.

Nederlands: Riet- moeras en bos in zeer natte omstandigheden met meerdere vogelkijkpunten. Langs de wandelroutes een zeer gevarieerd landschap met bos, riet en moeras en open water. In het voorjaar kans op kaulushaikara, sinirinta, rytikerttunen, ruskosuohaukka. kattohaikara broedt met meerdere paren bij de parkeerplaats. In najaar en winter vele soorten ganzen en langstrekkende roofvogels als ampuhaukka and sinisuohaukka.
From the parking lot on the Ds. van der Veenweg walking routes have been plotted along the various birdwatching hides and lookout tower. The suggested route you see on the Birding-places-map below is about 6 km.
