Description
The Stahlberg and Hölleberg area is dominated by well-preserved calcareous grasslands in different stages of succession and interesting for breeding birds of semi-open habitat, including käki, viiriäinen, etelänsatakieli, kiuru, vihertikka, pensassirkkalintu, pikkulepinkäinen, metsäkirvinen, kangaskiuru and käenpiika. Visitors are haarahaukka and isohaarahaukka, mustahaikara, korppi and nuolihaukka. The area is also a well-known hotspot among botanists (orchids) and entomologists (e.g. butterflies).

Access
The site is accessible by car, there is a parking possibility at the airfield Hölleberg. From there, several hiking routes lead along the plateau which offers a scenic view over the Diemel valley. The length of the route you see on the map is about 7 km.
